Race report by Joep Willemsen
Sunday, April 25th, the first round of the Dutch Nationals was held at the lovely AMCA track at Apeldoorn. This was the first race with the new rules. This year we changed to LiPo and 13.5T motors, with a free choice of ESC. The weather was fine (23°C) until one minute before the last final.

In the first final, pole sitter Rob Janssen blew his motor after a few laps and had to retire until the second final because of a lack of spare motors. The battle for the win was then between Patrick Jongenelis, Wesley van Dijken and Ronald Arts. Patrick won the first final.

Just before the second final the was a small rain shower which made the track very slippery. We all decided to start. This resulted in a surprising final, with a lot of unplanned ‶donuts※ and braking problems. Ronald Arts lead the race from start to finish. The rest of the drivers swapped positions a lot because of small & big mistakes. After two finals the overall winner was Wesley van Dijken.
